Bike Ride to Assomption

Get up early on a hazy, overcast Saturday.

Because left late, cut across town on Rene Levesque rather than going via Lachine bike path
10:00	At JC Bridge.  Photos  Jacket off
Head out Notre Dame bike trail.  Major building taken down at DeLorimier, big vacant lot.

10:25-10:40	Stop at Canadian Vickers.  Lots of buildings gone.  Good view of port area through fence and from rise.

10:50-55	Stop at Bossuet, corner Camco.  Lots of storage tanks gone.  Vacant lots.  See ped overpass for first time.  Climb up for photos.
11:10-20	Stop at Rue Caty, where houses gone. near tunnel
Stop at Bellerive Park.
11:35-40	Montreal east.  Road work over old creek.  Esso storage tanks, pipes all gone.
12:00		Mtl East waterfront. Tracks at Mtl East. Pte aux trembles. Old mill tower at 3rd avenue.
13:00 		Stop for lunch.  cheese and salami.

17:30		half-hour wasted trying to get across new bridge. Ile Claude (or Ile Jean?)
Head for Bois des Filion.  Knees tired.  Headwind since turned at Assomption.  Hilly. 
18:00  		Phone Sheryl.  Decide abandon.  Ride on
18:10		Stop at La Belle Province in BD. Have fries and coke.  Meet Lelana and family.  They keep me company until Sheryl gets there.
Leave around 20:00
Drive home over BD bridge.  All changed on Laval side.  new route straight across to 19.
